Xiaomi has unveiled its newest model, Mi Mix 2, almost one year after the launch of its predecessor Mi Mix. This event was held in Beijing and is set one day before the launch of Apple's much anticipated ten-year anniversary edition phones.
The new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 sports an 18:9 aspect ratio on a 5.99-inch AMOLED bezel-less display. The decision of reducing the screen size from 6.4-inch and changing the aspect ratio has drastically increased the pixel density of the screen from 361 PPI to 403 PPI. The phone runs on an Octa Core Snapdragon 835 Processor, 6 Gigs of RAM and a 3400 mAh battery with Quick charge 3.0. The device is made of ceramic and comes in three variants of 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB of internal storage space.
The camera is downgraded to a 12 MP resolution but uses large 1.25μm pixels to capture more light. The addition of a 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization will ease the process of taking clear photos and videos.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will be available at a price of $506 (₹ 32,324) for the 64 GB variant, $552 (₹ 35,264) for 128 GB variant and $613 (₹ 39,159) for the 256 GB variant.
Xiaomi has also unveiled a Special Edition of Mi Mix 2 with a ceramic unibody design and featuring 8 Gigs of RAM and 128 GB of storage space, which will be priced at $720 (₹ 45,995)
