Though the phone cannot be too far from its release, who doesn't love to know the specs beforehand? So, let's delve deep and discuss all that we know about the Galaxy Note 9.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 leak: specs, features and launch
The first leak of the phone came last month through the leaked HTML5 test result. The result spilt some crucial beans like the presence of Android 8.0 Oreo and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio display. Though this information isn't groundbreaking, it did confirm that the device in question was the Galaxy Note 9 indeed. This is because the code name of the phone in the test was SM-N960U which looked like the direct successor of the SM-N950 or the Galaxy Note 8. The U at the end denoted the US model.
After this, another leak came to us through a Korean report which stated that the phone will have an in-display fingerprint sensor. Earlier, rumours were ripe that Samsung won't include this new feature on the Galaxy Note 9 due to some performance and display security issues. However, with the arrival of this report, we became sure that the phone will feature an in-display fingerprint technology under its AMOLED display panel.
Another leak came and told us many things about the specs of the Galaxy Note 9. For instance, we came to know of its bigger battery size and display. Unlike the Galaxy Note 8 which was launched with a 3300mAh battery and a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display, the Galaxy Note 9 will have a 4000mAh battery and a 6.4-inch display panel.
Now, the display can be enlarged either by reducing the bottom bezel or by increasing the size of the phone. So, we do know that the Galaxy Note 9 will be somewhat bigger, more powerful with the Snapdragon 845 processor (for the USA) and more advanced with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Apart from this, you can expect this phone to launch sometime in August this year. The Galaxy Note 8 came out in August 2017. This is all we know about the Galaxy S9 as of now.
