OnePlus 5 becomes official, Dual camera, 8GB RAM
After several weeks of leaks and rumors, the OnePlus 5
has finally shown its face to the world. The creators of "Flagship Killer" have nailed many aspects of a perfect smartphone, and this time they aim to tick another box with the dual cameras.
The OnePlus 5 has had some of the most accurate leaks and there were little to no surprises during the launch. The Snapdragon 835 sits at the core of the device assisted by 6GB and even 8GB RAM in the higher end model. The Screen is a 1080p AMOLED panel with punchy colors and deep darks. The storage options are 64GB for the 6GB version and 128GB for the 8GB version.
The camera department consists of a promising 16MP shooter at f/1.7 aperture with excellent low-light capability. The additional 20MP sensor is behind a telephoto lens which enables the OnePlus 5 to separately process foreground and background objects for a DSLR-type bokeh effect, the front is still a 16MP sensor. The 3.5mm audio jack is intact and so is the front facing fingerprint scanner. The USB-C port supports Dash Charge which will help in filling the 3300mAh battery quickly.
The OnePlus 5 will be available on
OnePlus.net starting June 27 (Tuesday). You can also get your hands on one today by using the code shown during the unveiling.
