Google finally took wraps off the much-awaited Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL. The launch event had a few more releases with the Google Home Mini, Google Home Max, and even a new Pixel Book, but let's be real, we all know why we are here.
If you were keeping a close eye at all the Pixel leaks and rumours, then the official announcement may not have anything new in design for you. The Pixel XL has a 6" P-OLED display with a Quad HD resolution and the smaller Pixel 2 has a full HD OLED display. Both these devices feature front-facing speakers which are very cool since receding bezels have made manufacturers look for other positions. The Pixel 2 XL comes in two colours the White and Black(my personal favourite) and Just Black, while the Pixel 2 comes in three colours, Kinda Blue, Just black, and clearly White. The Snapdragon 835 sits inside along with 4GB RAM and a USB-C port at the bottom(just a USB-C port, no headphone jack).
One of the reasons for Google Pixel's popularity was the extremely capable camera, well the Pixel 2 doesn't disappoint. The Pixel 2 has an industry-leading camera with an eye-popping DxO mark rating of 98(Which is the highest ever). And right about now, many of you might be laughing at the single camera on the back in a world dominated by dual cameras, well Google did some smart work there. They have integrated advanced camera optics with their intricate and complex machine learning which creates the bokeh effect without needing an extra set of lens. This also makes it possible to have a bokeh effect in the selfies that you take with the Pixel 2 and 2 XL.
Apart from that, both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are water resistant and come equipped with Google lens. Pixel 2 owners also don't have to worry about running out of space since Google Photos is providing them with unlimited storage for all their photos and even the 4K videos. Pixel 2 and 2 XL also comes with a lot of AR stickers, to begin with, and will obviously improve upon AR through several other features in the future.
The Google Pixel 2 XL costs $849 and the smaller Pixel 2 will take $649 out of your bank account.
