Xiaomi is unveiling a '5' device tomorrow in India. We have reasons to believe that the company will launch two new smartphones. It was speculated earlier that the Redmi 5 and 5 Plus will debut in India on 14 February. However, now they are expected to be the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Mi TV 4 is also scheduled to arrive at the event.
Coming back to the phones, they will come as the successors to the Redmi Note 4. As can be expected, numerous leaks have surrounded them and now that we are so close to their launch, it is important to have a fair idea about them.

Redmi Note 5: rumours
The Redmi Note 5 has been leaked numerous times since Xiaomi's announcement to hold an event. The phone first leaked a week ago to show its bezel-less display. The leak went on to reveal the fingerprint sensor on the back and a dual rear camera setup.
The recent leak, which surfaced today itself, has confirmed some of these to be true while the others have been rejected. An official poster detailing the complete specs sheet of the phone has been leaked. The device does have a 5.99-inch display and a resolution of 1080 x 2160p. The pixel density of the phone is mentioned to be 403ppi. It has also been shown to have minimum bezels on all its sides.
However, the processor on the Note 5 is the Snapdragon 625, clocked at 2.0GHz instead of the Snapdragon 636. The device will have two variants - one with 3GB of RAM + 32GB of ROM and the second with 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM. It will also come with a massive 4000mAh battery. The device will not have a dual rear camera setup, unlike the earlier leaks hinted. It will only have a 12MP main camera sensor and a 5MP selfie shooter. The selfie shooter will carry an LED flash and will record 1080p @ 30fps videos.
The Redmi Note 5 will run Android Nougat-based MIUI 9. The rumours in the past suggested that the device will run Android Oreo but sadly, that's not happening. Apart from this, the phone will have a hybrid SIM slot. It will release in four colours - Gold, Black, Rose Gold and Blue.
After all this, we would like to ask Xiaomi if it has really made any major change in the Redmi Note 5. Wouldn't you?
Redmi Note 5 Pro - rumours
The Redmi Note 5 Pro is being called the renamed version of the Redmi 5 Plus. The phone has never been leaked before but today's banner has given everything that there is to know about this phone.
The phone carries a 5.99-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160p. The device is nearly bezel-less and looks pretty identical to the Redmi Note 5. It is this phone that carries the Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor. The chipset was rumoured to power the Note 5 earlier.
The Note 5 Pro comes in three variants - 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM, 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, and 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM. This is the first time for a Redmi device to feature 6GB of ROM and that massive a storage in a variant.
The phone carries a dual rear camera setup with a 12MP + 5MP camera sensor and a 20MP Sony IMX376 camera on the front which can record 1080p @ 30fps videos. It also runs the Android Nougat-based MIUI 9 and has a massive 4000mAh battery capacity.
