Vivo to sponsor FIFA World Cup 2018 and 2022
An agreement was signed yesterday between Vivo
and FIFA. As per the agreement, Vivo will be the official sponsor for FIFA World Cup 2018 and 2022 as well. During this partnership, Vivo's logo will be seen on all the advertising boards, tickets for the matches and any FIFA related tasks. The company also promises to launch a unique phone offering a unique experience for football fans around the world.
Regarding the agreement, FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura said;
"Football and technology are coming closer by the day, on and off the pitch, and it is a great moment to start a partnership of this nature with the leading global smartphone brand. We are very excited to be working closely with Vivo and keen to see their involvement in the next editions of the FIFA World Cup and FIFA Confederations Cup."
Talking more about the agreement, the FIFA staff is required to use Vivo smartphones while the tournaments are going on. Vivo keeps going with the aggressive marketing and brand positioning, aiming to strengthen international recognition. Also, Vivo's previous involvement in sport includes the title sponsorship of the Indian Premier League cricket competition and a strategic partnership with the NBA to become NBA China's official mobile handset sponsor.
