Television brand Vu has launched three new Android TVs in India today. It is the first time that the brand has entered this niche. The company has launched the Android 4K UHD LED TV in three sizes - 43-inch, 49-inch and 55-inch. All three models are UHD and will be available for buying at Flipkart and all offline stores of Vu from March 16.
The smallest model, that is the 43-inch variant comes at a price of Rs 36,999. The 49-inch and 55-inch models come at a price of Rs 46,999 and 55,999, respectively. All three models run on a quad-core processor with a Mali T860 GPU. Along with this, each model comes with a 2.5GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. Currently, the televisions run Android 7.0 Nougat but the company says that we can expect Android 8.0 Oreo soon.

Vu has also included the Vu ActiVoice technology on the remote controls of all the three models. It will help in making voice-based content search easier for the consumers. The company has partnered with ALTBalaji, Netflix and Hotstar for providing content. You can also download your favourite apps and games from Google Play Store.
All three models carry a built-in 10+10 Watt Box Speaker and come with a support for Dolby Digital and DTS. On the connectivity front, the TVs come with a support for Ethernet, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, WiFI, and HDMI. Is Vu trying to compete with Xiaomi?

We hope not, for Xiaomi has recently launched the Mi TV 4 and Mi TV 4A in India. The televisions have completely taken the market by storm with their premium features and drool-worthy prices. The 55-inch Mi TV 4 by Xiaomi costs just Rs 39,999 and comes with its own OS called Patchwall. It would be interesting to see how Vu performs against such a popular contender.
