If there is one platform which Indian smartphone users couldn’t part away, is WhatsApp. The instant messaging app in India has more than 200 million active users, which is a huge number considering the smartphone penetration in the country.
The numbers are still growing rapidly as per the reports released by the company. And it would makes sense for the instant messenger to introduce new tweaks. We have created this one-stop destination to track all the latest tweaks released by the brand.
Update (13/06/18): WhatsApp introduces labels to distinguish between forwards and original messages
While we still await the group video calling on the WhatsApp, the company has rolled out an update that was due for a long time. With the version number 2.18.179, it’s now easier to distinguish the forwarded and original messages.
WhatsApp now labels the forwarded messages, so that it’s easier to understand whether the message you’ve received was composed by the sender or was forwarded by them.
Note that this forwarded tag would be visible by both recipients as well as senders. To test this feature makes sure that you’re on the latest version of the app. Since this is still in beta, you must be enrolled in the beta version. As an alternative, you can download the APK file from APKMirror and sideload the app at your own risk.
There is one more feature introduced with this version number called New Media Visibility. It will allow users to hide the WhatsApp Media content on their phone's gallery app.
