"BATTERY PARADISE", but that's not all it has...
Writing this review after using the device for almost 2 months. If you are a techgeek the specsheet may seem unappealing to you especially with 32gig storage and 13mp below par camera.... Let me explain.
DISPLAY - simply the best in class ... it can beat any rival out there with it's super AMOLED panel..
the colors are vivid and fruitful to eyes... sunlight legibility is verygood i.e display is easily visible in direct daylight.
CAMERA- If there is any weekness that needs to be mentioned at first in this review, that is camera for sure.
primary camera is pretty average i.e there are phones in this price segment that can do a much better job than this one. Don't take me wrong, the camera is still decent when you compare it with a Redmi note 4 or K6 note. But you cannot compare it with a g5+ or a hnor6x.
selfie camera is the same case with a narrow angle lens but it gets the job done for most of the casual users. So this device is clearly not meant for the optics.
PERFORMANCE - Day to day performance is a pleasure in this device and it easily runs the highly graphic intensive games without any major jerks. The SD625 is renowned for its heating limits, so the device never really heats up during the gameplay or be it any task.
INTERFACE - Lenovo used to have a sluggish and crappy UI before. But that's not the case with this one. This runs on pure UI which gives a taste of stock Android with it's snappy and fluid operation. It also includes some of the useful features like dual apps, secure zone, micro screen etc.
The only concern for me is the fact that Lenovo fail to live up to their words in terms of software updates.
DESIGN - The phone is well built with a full metal finish at back and 2.5d glass at front and it's relatively slim at 8.3mm considering the fact that it has a 5100 mAH battery underneath.
The design is nothing new and kind of generic since we've seen this in other midrangers. FYI this phone weighs around 180g.
BATTERY - Do i really need to say anything about this?? Lenovo claimed that this guy will last for 3 days in a single charge with mediocre usage and this is true to a certain extent. For my regular kind of usage it gives me easily 2 days (I'm an intense user) of battery life with a screen on time of 10-12hrs. MIND BLOWN
MULTI TASKING - I'm using the 4gb Ram variant and the multitasking is seemless with apps stay in memory for a longer time than you expect.
SPEAKER - The bottom firing speaker is loud and clear enough for media consumption and it has some amount of bass to it which adds to the experience. Audio through the headset is no exception and it delivers as it should it be.(DONT USE EARPHONES INSIDE THE BOX, they're cheap)
If you are an extreme user and in need of a phone which gives you exemplary battery life , great performance, a lot of media consumption then probably you've no other options..
Note - After the nougat update ,I feel the device has become even more snappier than it used to be. The device is currently running on Android v7.0 with February security patch update.
