The most rugged feeling phone with 2:1 aspect screen out there.
As a replacement for my broken Z5 compact Id say it was good thing that my z5 broke (lol). The transition to this phone is really great this is my first LG phone and yes I came from a sony ui which is almost stock but I can say that I dont mind the transition. I am liking the the screen to body ratio and the 2:1 screen that it comes with, the QHD HDR display is also great (although I would have liked an option to change screen resolution). The camera hardware is also great kind of in a lower quality than that of the s8's camera but the wide angle lens and camera software that it comes with makes up for it (also to mention it also supports manual video and other features that you cant find on other smartphones). The user interface could be cleaner but installing a theme launcher can fix that easily, 7.0 nougat is onboard but I am hoping for a 7.1 for a more smoother and battery friendly os; skipping to oreo is also acceptable. The battery in the g6 is 3300 mah lithium ion battery and it gets me served through a whole day (noting that the always on display is turned off).
The performance is on par of any smartphones that comes with a Snapdragon 821. And lastly, (this shouldve been first) the build quality, I am liking the hand on feel of the device it is built like a tank because of LGs refusal of tapering the edges (which is a plus for me), the only gripe I have for this build quality is the mixed versions of gorilla glass overall the body (GG 3 on screen,GG 4 on camera lens and GG 5 on back glass to be specific. Overall I am loving the device and I recommend it to anyone who likes to have an s8 but lacks the budget to commit for it (and the fingerprint scanner placement is better here too lol).
