Motorola Moto X Pure Edition review the standard for phones today

all in all I would have to say the Moto X pure Edition is a good phone because the good and or Pros outweigh the bad or Cons. let me expand on that a little more. now I've owned the phone for over a year and these are all Pros I could think of and why: 1. Build quality and Design- from a build quality and design standpoint I would say that the phone is really really good. there is no rattling creaking of any kind and the phone feels solid in the hand and the build materials and the texture on the phone gives it a nice gripable of all material which means that this guy will stay firmly planted in your hands. when I talk about the design I think Motorola made the right choice. it's a very clean and straightforward design almost like Motorola went for a utilitarian approach. with very subtle design Q's to draw the user in and make them appreciate the device. 2. Screen/Display- from a display standpoint I would have to say that the display on the Moto X pure Edition is really good it gets really bright Outdoors and I had no issues with it and the big beautiful 5.7 inch Quad HD display is ideal for video viewing and or media consumption in general. 3. Dual front firing speakers- when we talk about the speakers in the device a very happy to say. that these are probably some of the best speakers that I've heard in a device in a long time and the fact that they are front-firing is another big plus. the sound quality on them are really really good and they get really loud enough to fill a small size room and the fact they are front-firing ads in immersive nature to any media consumption. 4. Software- from a software perspective the Moto X pure Edition is running an almost stock version of Android 6.0 marshmallow. the only modifications that Motorola have done is added in some Motorola features like the Motorola gestures, the Moto display feature, and Motorola's custom camera interface that streamlines the experience and really in my opinion is extremely user-friendly and simple-to-use. other than that I would have to say from a daily usage standpoint the software is very fluid and responsive and I've had no issues with the software overall aside from the fact that was a ton of apps open in the background you will notice a little bit of slow down overall throughout the UI. that being said it's not enough to take away from the user experience and the software as a whole is really good. Cameras- the cameras on the Moto X pure Edition are some of the best really did I find myself having to take a shot more than once and with the right lighting conditions and even in some low lighting conditions even to get some really good photos. the same could be said of the videos as well and the fact that you can record 4K video at 30 frames a second and 720p slow-motion video only ads to an overall good camera experience. that being said the simple and straightforward user interface on the cameras makes this one of the best camera experiences I've ever had with a smartphone and add to that the quick launch camera gesture which is just a quick Twisted wrist means that you almost never miss those moments that you want to capture what the cameras that you have on hand. turbocharging technology- another big thing that the Moto X pure Edition offers is the built-in turbocharging technology what's let you go from zero to a hundred in about an hour and 10 minutes and from 15 to 100 in about 45 minutes give or take a minute or two. this is really important to me because a smartphone is supposed to be a mobile experience and nowadays you have smartphones with a ton of power but you still end up in some cases being a wall hugger or someone that's always plugged in on the charger. so the fact that Motorola included the turbocharging meaning that I spend less time on the charger and more time using my device for what I want to do. really puts a smile on my face at the end of the day. this brings an end to all the pros the Moto X pure Edition brings to the table now let's talk about the cons and really there's only two. Overall Battery Life- when we talk about the battery life on the Moto X pure Edition this is where the device really takes a beating in regular daily use it's a struggle for me to even get close to let alone exceed four hours of screen on time. that's just not acceptable for me seeing that I used my phone as a mobile office taking phone calls checking emails making videos pretty much everything under the sun. so the fact that the Moto X pure Edition to handle all these tasks but it's dead in 4 hours if that really really makes me sad at the end of day. App Slow Down- another con Which is less extreme or less heartbreaking then the overall battery life is the app slow down and what that is is when you have a ton of apps open in the background you really tend to notice that the experience on the Moto X pure Edition slows down just enough to be noticeable. now this again makes me sad because he would think with pretty much a stock Android experience and really really good chips at and 3 gigs of RAM that this device should just fly no matter what I throw at it and I should be able to have tons of apps open in the background and be able to jump between them without issue. although this should be the case in reality it's far from it and the app slow down is real. alright that brings the pros and the cons and this review in general to a close overall as I've said the pros of this device outweigh the cons at least in my opinion. and I have no problem recommended this device to anyone as long as they could deal with the battery life and the apps slow down and really for a current selling price of $300 this device the Moto X pure Edition will be a solid and I must pick up for any user in my opinion. I hope everyone enjoyed this review and I hope you guys found it helpful.

Perfect when it came out, but good today.

My experience at the beginning was great, but after a year some apps wouldn't work as fast even after a full factory restore. Charger began to have charging issues.
