Since last year, there have been very strong reports of three iPhone X variants coming in 2018. Especially, Apple is said to be working on a 6.1-inch affordable iPhone. Famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is finally pegging a $550 price tag for the LCD iPhone.
Kuo has recently issued a note to investors that outlines some interesting aspects of the device. According to him, the 6.1-inch handset will have two models of which one will be a single SIM and the other a dual SIM variant. Moreover, the dual-SIM variant will have dual standby support. Moreover, the same feature will be present in the other 6.5-inch iPhone as per Kuo. This note from the analyst confirms an earlier report from Bloomberg which also stated such a possibility.
To recap, there are three iPhones rumoured this year. A 5.8-inch standard model with an OLED display. Another 6.5-inch variant, a sort of iPhone X Plus with an OLED panel and the 6.1-inch variant with an LCD display. Previous reports from Kuo have stated that Apple could sell around 120 million of these cheap 6.1-inch models. The 5.8-inch variant is unlikely to have a dual SIM variant.
The single SIM variant of the phone is expected to cost anywhere between $550 and $650. Whereas the dual-SIM variant could cost $100 more. With this low price, Apple can expect its Chinese and Indian market shares soar in 2019.
