In a bid to outrun Reliance Jio, Airtel has been offering smartphones on its Airtel Online Store with enticing data and EMI plans for postpaid users. However, now the telco has moved one step ahead and announced bundles for pre-paid users as well starting today. That said, the offer is currently for just a handful of smartphones namely the Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 7 Plus, and the Oppo F9 Pro. This is definitely a good option to have as it would let prepaid users stay on their prepaid plan, however, the lack of smartphone choice is a bummer.
To buy with the prepaid option, customers have to simply visit the Airtel Online Store and choose one of the smartphones under the scheme. The site will offer the buyer options to chose a prepaid or postpaid plan. If buyers choose a prepaid option, they will get 1.4GB data/day with no FUP, unlimited voice and 100 SMS per day for a whole year. There is also a specific down payment before users can get their hands on the new smartphone. The rest of the payments will be through EMI spanning 12 months.
If you’re wondering, the total cost of Airtel’s EMI bundle exceeds the actual price of the smartphones on Flipkart and Amazon by a small margin. But again, you’re getting a whole year of data, voice, and SMS with it, so in the end, it’s not a bad deal. The only thing that will hold Airtel’s offer back right now is the lack of new smartphones under the new offer as we stated earlier. However, if you’re opting for a Nokia 6.1 Plus, you’re in luck.
