What’s the difference between old Fire TV stick and the new Fire TV Stick 4K?

As the name suggests, the new model offers support of 4K resolution streaming content, which is great if you have a 4K enabled Television set seating at your home. If you have been craving to watch a crystal clear on-demand video content, this is your way to do so. Not only that, the new Fire TV Stick 4K offers HDR10+ for the better colour dynamic viewing experience. Plus, the Dolby Vision support is icing on the cake as it is touted to be the first stick with Dolby Vision support.

Yes, that’s right! Amazon has upgraded not just the stick but the remote control as well. With this all-new Alexa voice remote, you’d enjoy navigating through Alexa on a click of a button using voice search. Not only that you can also control your TV with this Amazon voice remote. How convenient is that!

Interestingly, the new Alexa voice remote can be paired with the previous generation Fire TV stick. For those users, they’d have to fetch Rs 1,999 to get the new remote experience where for new Fire TV Stick 4K users they’ll get it with the stick. In case you have a confusion.

Amazon claims its new Fire TV stick 4K is 80% faster than the previous generation, which is a huge claim. And should make a big difference. I have been using the Fire stick for almost a year now and I’d love to try this one out. Powering the stick is a quad-core processor, which clocks at 1.7GHz. There is a support of 8GB internal storage and Bluetooth 5.0+ LE. Talking more in terms of the connectivity features it has a support of dual-band, dual-antenna support for 802.11ac networks.
