There are a handful of lucky devices that can now run the Developer previews of upcoming Android P this year. Amongst them is the OnePlus 6. If you’re not aware of Developer previews and how to about flashing them on your OnePlus 6, it is best you avoid them. Here is what OnePlus has to say for you,
“As it is still in an early stage of development, we do not recommend flashing this ROM if you have little to no experience in software development or flashing custom ROMs. Proceed at your own risk!”
If, however, you are aware of the steps and tradeoffs and have no issues with that, then, by all means, you can go ahead. This Android P Developer preview will require a manual flash because there won’t be any OTA. This means you’ll have to download the firmware first. For that, we will link to the source file at the end of the article.
The standard procedure for flashing a ROM also involves some preliminary steps such as taking a backup, ensuring enough storage space, and charging up the battery ideally to 50 percent. As for what the new update has to offer, it mostly contains bug fixes and stability additions. Hit up the source link to see the changelog.
