When the iPhone X was launched in September this year, it brought a host of new features including a new nearly bezel-less display and Face ID. However, its monumental asking price has evidently deterred a lot of buyers. Despite a good uptake in China for the iPhone X, sales in other countries like Singapore, the United States, and Taiwan has been sluggish.
As a result, some reports suggest that Apple could slash the prices for the iPhone X from May 2018. A report from Bloomberg also forecasts that the shipments of the iPhone X will only reach 35 million, which is a good 10 million lower than what was previously forecasted. Apple had thought the demand for the iPhone X will increase during the holiday season but sadly that didn’t happen.
Interestingly, there are multiple rumours that the Cupertino giant is planning to launch three iPhone’s in the year 2018 to offset this decreased demand. Although these rumours have been floating in the market even before the iPhone X had launched.
Some other reports also claim that not only is the company adjusting the prices of the mobile phone but it is also building a prototype handset which may support pre-5G features. Though this is mere speculation we will let you know once the company gives an official statement about this. If this prototype news is true it is going to be a huge deal for everyone.
