Apple iPhone XI 2019 renders leaked, to come with a triple-camera setup

iPhones 2019

Apple has had 2018 as a year to forget. The company dropped its value a lot and saw Huawei overtake it as the world’s second highest smartphone seller. The company did launch a trio of new smartphones last year, namely the iPhone XS, XS Max, and the XR. However, lackluster sales of all the devices have caused the company to rethink their strategy. Enter – Apple iPhone XI. Which is said to ride the waves of the current trend of triple-camera smartphones.

Apple iPhone XI leaked

While still a long road before the actual launch of the device, early renders of the Apple iPhone XI have been leaked. As you can see, the renders reveal a square camera unit housing three cameras aligned non-linearly. There are two cameras aligned vertically, similar to the previous iPhones. There’s also a third camera placed between the two, on the side. Above that is an LED flash and a microphone on the bottom.

Leaks suggest that the 2019 iPhones are still in Engineering Validation Test (EVT) stage. As such, there could be changes in the details when the phones will eventually launch in September 2019. For now, there is no word on the iPhone XI specs or what the third camera sensor could be used for. Going by the word on the street, the third sensor could either be a wide sensor or a 3D Time of Flight (TOF) sensor. Considering how much Apple bets on AR and VR, chances are it would probably be the latter.

Apple iPhone XI price and availability

The Apple iPhone XI will launch sometime in September 2019, which is a long way from now. As such, the design could see certain changes. However, the fact that the newer iPhones would come with a triple-camera setup is confirmed.
