Recently Apple has been accused of slowing down the batteries of their iPhones. They were blamed that this stunt was pulled by the company on purpose in order to boost the sales of the new handsets. But Apple has apologised for what happened and has started the replacement program for batteries of old iPhones. This initiative has gone live in India.
This replacement program is ahead of the schedule not only in India but the rest of the world too. The subsidised batteries will be available by the end of January 2018.
Apple has reduced the price of the iPhone battery which is not under warranty by Rs 2,000. The battery will cost Rs 3,900. This offer will be active until December 2018. The iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, and the iPhone 7 Plus are all under this offer. The replaced battery will bring the iPhone’s condition back to normal.
The iOS software will release an update in January 2018 with certain new features that will provide users with more visibility into the iPhone’s battery health. They will get an option to check for themselves if the battery is affecting the performance of the iPhone.
This software update will enhance the performance of the older iPhones like iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus.
