Are you using apps like DU Battery Saver and Clean Master? If your answer is yes, you must be aware of those irritating ads which pop up while your screen is locked! I mean, we understand that apps need to generate profits and ads are necessary with that perspective but there should be a limit to everything. While ads inside an app are tolerable, the situation goes out of our hands when they start occupying our phone’s notification bar and lock screen.
While a few people believe in ad blockers, the rest of us just cannot find a way out. Google, the giant search engine and what not, banned apps from displaying ridiculous adds in our notification bar and this time, it has come out with yet another customer-friendly move! Apps will no longer be allowed to display adds on your lock screen and let’s accept it, this is a huge sigh of relief!
Google has added a new section on its Monetization page and it is called “Lockscreen Monetization”. According to this section, “Unless the exclusive purpose of the app is that of a lock screen, apps may not introduce ads or features that monetize the locked display of a device.”
However, third-party apps (like lock screen replacement apps) are still allowed to send these mischievous ads on your lock screen but the other apps which have no such purpose will eventually have to get rid of this practice! Many of our acquaintances suffer from them and don’t know how to do away with them but this new rule by Google will definitely weed these unnecessary ads out!
Are you satisfied with this move? Do you know someone who should read this article? Did we manage to cover things properly?
