February is set to be a huge festival for smartphone enthusiasts as brands prepare for the Mobile World Congress 2018. Apparently, Asus also has something up its sleeve for its customers. One of those surprises has just leaked possibly in the shape of the Asus ZenFone 5 Max.
The leaked image comes from a manufacturer’s manual displaying a model number X00PD. The device diagrams have been originally obtained by Wifuture. According to the source, the said ZenFone 5 model sports a 5.7-inch bezel-less display, an 18:9 aspect ratio, and a dual camera setup. Now, the model under question here has already seen Geekbench scores as being listed with a Snapdragon 430 SoC. Thus, if the listing is legit, this could be a low-end variant of the ZenFone 5 family.
A similar model name – X00QD – has recently been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo and features dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi support. Both these model numbers are believed to be variants of the Asus ZenFone 5 Max like we said earlier.
Asus’ flagship ZenFone family generally consists of more than three members. That is likely to continue with the ZenFone 5. According to the latest info, a ZenFone 5 Lite variant has also been sighted in Russia. That phone has a 6-inch display accompanied by a bezel-less 18:9 design, and a Snapdragon SoC.
Asus has sent invites for an event at MWC on February 27 (12 am IST, February 28) where they will be launching the at least some variants of the ZenFone 5.
