Asus ZenFone 5Z with Snapdragon 845 SoC launched in Japan; price and availability revealed

Asus launched its new lineup of ZenFones at MWC. The ZenFone 5 series came in three flavours – the regular ZenFone 5 that was made available in markets in April, the ZenFone 5 Lite, that was even early to market in March, and the ZenFone 5Z, that is just getting launched in Japan.

The handset can be pre-ordered on the Asus website in two colours – Space Silver and Shiny Black. It is priced JPY 75,384 (roughly Rs. 46,100) for the 6GB RAM variant currently listed. The launch will be on June 15, as declared by Asus on its official Twitter account.

Asus Zenfone 5Z Specifications 

The ZenFone 5Z is very close to the ZenFone 5 and features the Snapdragon 845 CPU while graphics are handled by the Adreno 630 GPU. The screen is a big 6.2-inch Full-HD+ panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2246 pixels. It also has a great screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent and has a very small chin.

The ZenFone 5Z has a dual rear camera of 12MP + 8MP capacity. The former is a Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The front selfie shooter has an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 capacity. Asus has baked in its own version of Animoji called ZeniMoji along with a lot of AI quirks. The one launching in Japan has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which is expandable via a dedicated SD card slot.

The dual-SIM device runs Android 8.0 Oreo with ZenUI 5.0 as skin and has 3,300mAh battery. It also has a lot of extras like Hi-Res Audio (192KHz/ 24-bit standard output via earphones), and DTS Headphone: X support just to name a few.
