Best wireless earphones under Rs 2000: Mr. Phone Picks

wireless earphones under Rs 2000

Thanks to the fact that smartphone manufacturers have started removing the 3.5mm jack from their phones, there is suddenly an increased demand for wireless headphones. And India as a market, is a sucker for low-cost products. Moreover, for some odd reason, we’ve noticed that Indians prefer in-ear type headphones more than the over-the-ear or on-the-ear kinds.

In all honesty, most of the bluetooth wireless earphones you will find online sound below average. Therefore, brands will throw a plethora features at you and entice you. While these features are definitely great add-ons, what matters is the sound quality. And unlike its wired counterparts, wireless earphones under Rs 2,000 are far and few in between.

Therefore, we’ve carefully selected a few wireless earphones under Rs 2,000 that actually sound good apart from offering a few great features.

SoundMagic E10BT

The thing about SoundMagic is that it makes some of the best sounding budget audio products. The SoundMagic E10BT, while a tad costlier than our Rs 2,000 budget, is a superb, superb pair of BT earphones for its price. It has the best sound signature of any earphones in this price category.  The earphones itself are made of metal, and come with 3 pairs of tips. However, the only problem is the SoundMagic E10BT is not built sturdily. However, the issue is people trying to use it for longer durations.

Philips SHB 5250 BL

A fact that many folks don’t know is that Philips makes some great earphones and headphones. The sound quality is generally top-notch and the best part is these earphones are not very expensive either. The Philips SHB 5250 BL is a pair of ultra-affordable wireless earphones which wrap around your neck in neckband style. It has a flat wire which means that you don’t have to worry about tangling. The Philips SHB 5250 BL is for folks who don’t want an entirely in-ear style and prefer the design of the Apple earpods.  The only downside, at least according to a lot of Amazon reviews, seems to be the battery life. Apparently, it lasts only 3-4 hours on a single charge.

SoundOne BT 788

The first of many Chinese accessory makers to have invaded the market, SoundOne’s BT 788 wireless earphones have sold by the dozen on Amazon and Flipkart. One of the reasons for the SoundOneBT 788’s phenomenal success is definitely because of its bass-heavy, coloured sound signature meant to please the masses. If you like Skullcandy products and listen to a lot of commercial pop, hip-hop music, you are bound to like the SoundOne BT 788.  Be forewarned though, the SoundOne BT 788’s fit is not going to please everyone and a ton of reviews on Amazon suggest that the build quality isn’t too great either.

TaoTronics Bluetooth Headphones

Yet another fledgling brand in this list, TaoTronics’ Bluetooth headphones is the best option for workout enthusiasts. The TaoTronics Bluetooth headphones support the aptX codec for better quality audio, and come with in-line controls for iOS and Android devices. Apart from providing three sets of earbuds, you also get neat ear-hooks that can secure the fit while you are running on the treadmill. On the flipside, the TaoTronics actually don’t sound as good as the SoundMagic E10 BT. But that’s the case with the other earphones in this price range as well.
