BlackBerry recently launched the successor of the KEYone – the KEY2 at a price of $650. Now, the old Canadian smartphone maker is likely releasing a KEY2 Lite or KEY2 LE. The company released a teaser for the smartphone on its official Twitter handle with the lines – “Almost time for a new introduction #IFA18.”. This could either mean that the handset with a physical QWERTY keypad releases on August 30th at IFA 2018 in Berlin or we see a completely different smartphone. However, the KEY2 Lite is a very good candidate.

The brief video teaser isn’t very kind enough in revealing anything except a texturized back of the phone. However, leaks have been very kind to us in this subject, but you might not be very impressed. Previous renders of the phone have revealed a design similar to its bigger brother, the KEY2. Hence, it seems logical that there will be changes inside the chassis to justify the “Lite” tag. The toned-down version of the KEY2 will possibly get Red, Blue, and Copper colour options and a plastic body thus allowing for a lower price.
Reports suggest the KEY2 Lite will come without trackpad functions much like the KEYone. However, it will still retain the shortcut buttons function. As for the spec-sheet, below is what you can hope to see.
