Coolpad today expanded its Note series by launching the Note 6 in India. The sensibly-priced handset is an entry-level offering that costs Rs 8,999 for the 32GB model.
On paper, the handset has some decent things going for itself even though its marquee feature is the dual selfie camera. The Coolpad Note 6 has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080p resolution. So no 18:9 display, but this is a Full-HD at that price is a very good offering. The handset includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 in its guts and an impressive 4GB of RAM. Two storage options are there to choose from: 32GB/64GB. This is further expandable by a micro SD card slot.
The highlight is the selfie-shooting combo of 8MP + 5MP sensors that can shoot up to 120-degree wide angle selfies.
Despite all the great hardware, the Coolpad Note 6 comes with Android 7.1 Nougat, which is a bit of a letdown. The battery is a beefy 4,070mAh unit, which matches the segments top dog,the Redmi 5. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM, and Micro-USB. Also, it does have a fingerprint sensor baked in the home button.
Coolpad Note 6 is priced RS 8,999 for the 4GB + 32GB variant and Rs 9,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant. There does seem to be a 3GB variant as well but its price is currently unknown. It starts selling from May 1st across 300+ multi-brand stores in 8 states including Delhi NCR, Haryana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharastra.
