One November 29 Google launched an app on Play Store named Datally. This app is well designed to help prevent its users from being exploited by high priced mobile data packages. Datally app helps in saving data consumption and enable users to switch off data usage for the apps they have chosen.
Caesar Sengupta (Vice President, Next Billion Users, Google) said, “Mobile data is expensive for many people around the world. And what’s worse, it’s hard to figure out where it all goes. That’s why we built Datally, an app that helps you to control, save more and do more with your data. We’ve been testing Datally in the Philippines for the past few months, and people are saving up to 30 percent on their data.”
This Datally app idea is brilliant that the users can save data consumption by choosing the apps they really like. It is an effort by Google to provide with maximum usage of one’s mobile data, this will surely have a great impact on countries which do not have proper internet connections. This way users will be able to keep a track on where they have spent their mobile data.
