The Nokia X6’s smaller sibling, the Nokia X5, was supposed to launch on July 11 in China. However, that launch event got cancelled at the last moment and the company issued an apology on Weibo for the unexpected cancellation of the event, saying that the launch will happen later on. Now, it seems the launch will take place on July 17, according to a report.

The Nokia X5 is not a fictitious device as we have TENAA documents proving its existence. However, the new launch date can’t be 100 percent confirmed as HDM Global has yet to say anything regarding the next launch date. Speaking about the Nokia X5 itself, the handset sports a notch display similar to the Nokia X6 and is 5.86-inches in size. It is a 720p resolution panel, and the processor is pegged to be either the Helio P60 or a Snapdragon 6xx series chip.

The Nokia X5 has dual rear cameras 13MP + 8MP and the front has a single 8MP sensor just like the Nokia 5.1. The battery size is 3,000mAh and it will most probably run stock Android Oreo. The phone looks very much like the Nokia X6 but the glass design is not completely confirmed.

This report of the Nokia X5, that will be globally known as the Nokia 5.1 Plus, comes from Gizchina and if we want official confirmation, we will have to wait. We still expect a launch before the end of this month.
