A new leak has surfaced today divulging a the comprehensive spec sheet of the HTC U12. Coming from a reputed HTC tipster, the spec-sheet comes after a similar spec sheet popped up on Sunday. Not much is different from what we saw in that leak. The HTC U12 is currently known internally as the HTC Imagine.
According to the latest spec-sheet, the HTC U12 should rock a 5.99-inch QHD+ display with 2:1 aspect ratio. This is predictable from HTC as the HTC U11 Plus also had such a screen. It is also expected to sport up to 6GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The words in the listing suggest that we might even see a 4GB version with less storage. Moving forward, the leak is less discrete about camera details but it does mention a 12MP + 16MP for the rear. This area is also where the previous leak differs. in As for the front, an 8MP single shooter is tipped to be on the flagship.
Of course, it’s presumable that the HTC U12 would run on Android 8.0 Oreo and that is also what the spec list says. It should accompany HTC’s Edge Sense 2.0 and Sense 10 UI. Moreover, the handset will be water and dust resistant to a large extent with an IP68 rating.
HTC is believed to have packed the U12 with a 3420mAh battery and Quick Charge 3.0. What is most predictable is that HTC would load the handset with a Snapdragon 845 SoC. And that is what the leak says. Last we saw the HTC U12 was at a 5G conference in Taiwan. HTC demoed the device to deliver up to 1.2 Gbps at that event. That made us suppose that it was sporting the X20 LTE modem of the Snapdragon 845.
Pricing has not been revealed but the previous leak pegged it to be $880. That is a bit less than the $929 price tag of the HTC U11+. Going by HTC’s schedule, the handset should debut in late April before making its way to shelves in May.
