Nokia has re-introduced itself in the smartphone market, thanks to HMD Global. The brand has been trying really hard to re-attain the glory which was once bestowed upon it by coming up phones like Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. While HMD Global has focussed on Android smartphones, it has not ignored the older phones. Nokia 3310 made a debut in the market again with internet connectivity, revamped colors and better battery backup.
Following this trail, there is a strong chance that the company is working on revamping the Nokia E71, or at least a phone which looks like it. A Chinese leak hints on a new phone with a QWERTY Keypad and let’s accept it looks like an improvised Nokia E71!
FCC has passed a phone with model number TA-1047 which comes with a dual sim support and removable battery. There are speculations that this device is just an LTE version of the Nokia 3310, the chances of it happening are grim. The main reason behind this is the size of the two phones. The TA-1047 does not match with the revamped Nokia 3310 at all! The TA-1047 has been listed to have Wi-Fi, FM Radio, Bluetooth and 4G LTE connectivity.
This mysterious device has been speculated to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 quad-core processor. The phone is also likely to come up with 3.2-inch LCD display with a resolution of 480×480 pixels. However, we are hoping that this QWERTY phone would be powered by Snapdragon 205 processor since it has been specially designed for feature phones!
The phone will also run on KaiOS instead of the in-house Nokia Series 30+. The biggest drawback that this QWERTY phone will face if this speculation is true is its inability to have WhatsApp and Telegram on it. Other feature phones like Jio Phone also run on the KaiOS but Reliance Jio is rumored to be ditching it very soon in order to be a part of the Android One Program by Google!
