How much battery do you think is more than enough on a smartphone? you’d probably say 5,000 mAh or even 7,000mAh. But there are even some handsets by Chinese companies that are power banks in their own right with 10,000juice packsacks. That’s all 2017 though. Energiser has demoed a new phone that is the big daddy of all large battery smartphones at MWC 2018. The handset named Energiser Power Max P16K Pro has a 16,000mAh battery in what the company calls an “ultra-slim design”. Obviously, this blows away all the competition out of the water.
Now, we can only imagine what this ultra-slim design will be. With a 16,000mAh battery, you can bid goodbye to comfortable one hand use for good. The Energiser Power Max P16K Pro is about 15.2mm thick, according to secondary sources. And with that huge battery, it should weigh around 300 grams. The battery is of unsurprisingly reverse-charge compatible which means you can charge other devices with it. According to an Energiser rep., this thing can last you five days or more, depending on your use. The handset does have USB Type-C but it remains to be seen how fast the device can top up its power storage.
As for the other specs, the Energiser P16K Pro sports a 5.99-inch (1080 x 2160p) full-HD+ display. Underneath, it packs a MediaTek Helio P23 SoC, coupled with 6GB of RAM. For photography, the phone utilizes a 13MP + 5MP duo on the rear. The front remarkably also has a dual 16MP + 13MP setup. Also, there’s 128GB of expandable onboard storage as well as dual-SIM functionality.
Avenir Telecom, Energiser’s parent company said that the phone will launch sometime in September for an approximate price of $500.
