Everything you need to know about Vivo V7 Plus

Vivo phone

The Chinese Manufacturers who are better known for their selfie phones and huge marketing budgets have launched another one of their flagship models, i.e. the Vivo V7 Plus.

By all the advertisements they’ve done so far, everybody knows that Vivo is playing in their own league when it comes to selfies. They previously launched Vivo V5 Plus, a smartphone sporting dual front cameras, and a flash, which was revolutionary (only in terms of selfies).

With V7 Plus, they have ditched the dual camera setup in the front and instead went for a daring feat of replacing it with a 24 MP camera. While every company on the planet is adding dual cameras at the back, Vivo is not even interested in being part of that game. They have segmented themselves to a niche audience of people who love selfies more than anything in the world.

Coming to the screen, they have chosen the aspect ratio of 18:9 or as I call it 2:1 over their legacy aspect ratio of 16:9 on a 6-inch screen (5.99 to be precise). The fingerprint sensor is moved to the back increasing the screen to body ratio to a 78.4%, which is slightly more compared to their previous phones, Vivo V5s and Vivo V5 Plus. Vivo V7 Plus runs on FunTouch OS 3.2 (based on Android Nougat 7.1) on a Snapdragon 450 processor with 1.8 GHz Octa core CPU. It yet again displays a plastic back, which is not something I am looking forward to.

The phone has a 64 GB storage space and a 4 Gig RAM, and the memory is expandable up to 256 GB. The only good thing about the expanded memory is that now it has a dedicated memory slot for it, unlike its previous phones which used the SIM2 slot.

My final thoughts are, if you are a selfie person, you should go buy this overpriced phone, but if you’re not, then there are much better phones in the market than this one in an even low budget to choose from.

The phone is available to buy on September 15 at a price of  ₹ 21,990. You can see the detailed tech specs for yourself and can then decide whether you want to proceed further or not.
