Chinese tech giant OPPO has been on somewhat of a launch spree in India. The brand announced a slew of handsets under its all-new Reno series in the subcontinent this year. Now, per our sources, the company is all set to unveil the Reno 3 Pro in the month of February in India.
OPPO Reno 3 Pro – What to expect?
OPPO’s VP of Global Sales, Allen Wu announced the Reno 3 Pro during the ongoing Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii. At the event, Wu confirmed that OPPO will launch a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765-powered Reno3 Pro somewhere in Q1 of 2020. However, per our sources, the smartphone in question will be launched in India with a MediaTek processor. Coincidentally, MediaTek too announced a 5G-capable SoC in the form of MediaTek Dimensity 1000 a while ago which could see its way on a Reno 3 Pro variant to be launched in India.
As for the rest of the specs of the phone, we have been informed that the Reno 3 Pro will ship with a quad-camera setup at the back, comprising a main 64MP sensor. Our best guess is that the phone will utilize Samsung’s GW1 sensor, which was found on the MediaTek Helio P90-powered Redmi Note 8 Pro. While we don’t have any concrete information on the rest of the camera specs, you can expect the Reno 3 Pro to feature a wide-angle lens, along with a telephoto lens and a macro/depth sensor.
In terms of design, while pop-up camera smartphones are currently in-vogue, the Reno 3 Pro will reportedly ship with a notched display. The smartphone is expected to feature the company’s 50W SuperVOOC charging tech as well.
That’s all the information we have on OPPO’s upcoming handset right now. Do let us know in the comments below if you’re excited for the phone to launch in India. For more details on the smartphone’s pricing and availability, stay tuned to our blog.
