Flipkart and Nokia have entered into a strategic partnership to launch Nokia branded Smart TVs in India. In this partnership, Flipkart will manufacture, distribute, and manage the end-to-end market strategy of the TV line-up. The alliance is all set to create thousands of new jobs in the country, as this will be a part of the Make in India initiative.
Flipkart & Nokia coming up with Nokia-branded TVs
Starting with the most interesting information, the Nokia branded Smart TVs will feature superior quality powered by JBL Audio. An initiative by HARMAN, JBL will offer high-quality audio equipment. This will be the first foray of the brand into television in India, Nokia as well as for JBL.
The e-commerce retailer brings consumer insights into this partnership. Poor sound quality and experience is a major pain point for customers buying Smart TVs in India. And Flipkart might just be doing that with Nokia. With Nokia’s brand common in Indian households, Flipkart will leverage that to sell a Made in India Smart Television line-up.
Our Bit on Flipkart and Nokia Partnership
Does this all sound similar? Well, the e-retailer did the same with Motorola a couple of months ago when it announced a range of Android 9 powered smartphones with built-in soundbar technology. We don’t know if we will be seeing the same approach, but it could definitely be in the books of the brands working towards introducing a better smart TV line-up for the Indian consumers.
