Samsung is likely to launch some new models under the budget J-series soon. Two of the smartphones under this series have been leaked until now. One of them is the Galaxy J8 which showed up on Geekbench and showed decent specs like Exynos 7870 processor with 3GB of RAM. Another device has been leaked today on the same platform. The new leak shows a more powerful device. While it might be the bigger variant of the J8, there are chances that it is a completely new Galaxy J8 Plus device.

The new device has the model number SM-J805G against the original Galaxy J8’s SM-J800FN. The phone packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, clocked at 1.8GHz. Instead of 3GB of RAM, the device packs 4GB of it.
Nothing more has surfaced the internet as of now. However, we know that the phone will run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. Coming to Android Oreo, Samsung Canada has released a timeline for rolling out the OS to its devices. Interestingly, we could not find any J-series device in the timeline. Hence, it is expected for all the previous phones under this series will not receive Android Oreo.

Other flagships by Samsung will receive Oreo within the first half of this year. Some other devices will have to wait until the end of 2018 to get the update. Right now, we are looking forward to the two Galaxy J8 devices and hoping that they perform better than their predecessors.
