After Galaxy S8, S7 now Galaxy S6 to get Android Oreo

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung has rolled out the Android Oreo in the Galaxy S8 flagship, after a while it rolled it out to S7 as well. Now the Galaxy S6 which was launched in 2015 will also get a piece of the cake. Usually updating such an old phone is very unlikely but seeing Samsung do it makes us feel that a change is around the corner. This could also be because Samsung is now competing with Apple where it comes to long-term support since Apple is the ruler of updates.

If you have forgotten the Galaxy S6 had a 5.10-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The smartphone was launched in march 2015. It is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor along with a 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The front camera is a 16 MP primary camera and the back camera is a 5 MP secondary camera.

Rumours suggest that Galaxy S8, S8+, S8 Active, and Note 8 may end up getting Android Q or even Android R.
