The Samsung Galaxy S9 has just been released and its already starting to win accolades. It’s not anything new for Sammy’s flagships to be showered with awards from leading hardware evaluators. DisplayMate is a leading display and picture quality evaluator which just handed one such award to Samsung. According to DisplayMate’s tests, the Galaxy S9 has topped their graph with an A+ rating. The outstanding result is due to the overall superiority of Samsung’s 3K OLED display.
According to the test, the Galaxy S9 has the best average rating in four key areas: colour accuracy, brightness, outdoor visibility, and reflectivity. Not only does the handset top the reflectivity test, it also aced the high brightness test with a max of 1,130 nits. That is believed to be 10 percent more than the Galaxy S8. Moreover, the Galaxy S9 creates the most accurate colours. It received a rating of 0.7 JNCD (Just Noticeable Colour Difference). That number represents the minimum difference a human eye can see.
All in all, DisplayMate says the Galaxy S9 has the “the best performing smartphone display that we have ever tested.” That is all the more impressive seeing hardware of the display is pretty much the same as the previous generation.
Previously, the Galaxy Note 8 and the Galaxy S8 have also been lauded by DisplayMate for their leading quality. The new A+ rating of the Galaxy S9 means that it takes the top spot formerly held by the iPhone X due to its high colour accuracy.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 has a 5.8-inch SuperAMOLED curved display with 1440 x 2960p resolution. Both the new Galaxy S series phones will debut in India on March 6th. Availability is expected by March 16th. For more details on speculated price, you can refer this article here.
