Google launches the Google Home and Home Mini in India; price starts from Rs 4,499

Google Home devices launched in India

Google has launched the much-awaited Google Home and Home Mini devices in India today. They were speculated to release in April and proving them right, the company has launched the devices. Yesterday, Flipkart listed the two products and their features on its website. You can buy the Google Home at a price of Rs 9,999 while the Home Mini will be available at Rs 4,499. 

If you buy any of the two devices on Flipkart, you will get a free JioFi router with special offers on music subscriptions. If you choose to buy them from Reliance Digital or MyJio stores, you get a free JioFi router with 100GB of 4G VoLTE data worth Rs 2,499. At selected Philips Hue and Croma outlets, you will get a Philips Hue + Google Home Mini at a special prize. You can also receive a 10 percent cash back if you buy the devices through HDFC credit card. 

Also, ACT Fibernet retail customers subscribing to a 12-month advance rental plans of 90Mbps and above will get a Google Home Mini for free. Amazing, isn’t it?

Both the speakers come with a tagline “Intelligence meets comfort” and were originally launched in 2016. Using these speakers, multiple people in multiple rooms can avail the benefit of the Google Assistant. The devices are a direct competition for Amazon Echo and Echo Dot. It would be interesting to see who wins the competition. Google is also planning to launch a mid-range Pixel phone in the Indian subcontinent.

Google Home device

Amazon’s Echo devices are powered by its smart voice assistant, Alexa. Google, on the other hand, connects Google Assistant to people. The devices make it easy to start videos, play music, get new updates and control smart home. If you choose to buy the Google Home devices, you will have to set it up with your voice. As soon as the speaker starts recognising your voice, it will start performing all the tasks that you ask it to perform. You will need to connect your Google Home to a Chromecast to watch videos and control them on Netflix and YouTube.

You can also ask queries without having to “Google” things and even your daily tasks can be managed by these smart devices.

You can get them on Flipkart exclusively. You can also visit prominent retail stores like Reliance Digital, Croma etc to buy the Google Home devices. The mini version of the device is available in two colours -Chalk and Charcoal. The Google Home speaker will be available in Chalk colour as of now and you can expect the Coral colour to arrive soon.
