Google at an event in Mountain View has announced the launch of its new Pixel phones. The much awaited, thousand times leaked, the new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL phones are here. Let’s talk about these new Pixel smartphones below in detail.
Google Pixel 4 & Pixel 4 XL Specification
Running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, not the 855 Plus, these new Pixel phones offer a flagship processor. But not the latest one, though. Equipped will be Adreno 640 GPU for graphics performance. There will be a 6GB of RAM on the Pixel 4 and its XL edition. As far as storage is concerned, there will only be two variants, 64GB and 128GB.
These new Pixel phones will be coming in three colour variants, clearly white, just black, and oh so orange. Note that “” oh so orange” will be available only in the 64GB model for both the Pixel phones.
Speaking of the camera unit, it is the first time since the introduction of the Pixel phone, Google is offering a dual rear camera setup. The primary lens will be of 12.2 MP resolution with f/1.7 aperture. While the secondary lens will be of 16MP resolution, which will be a telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture.
Note that both the lenses will offer PDAF, the standard field of view for the camera setup is 77 degrees. You can record UHD 4K videos up to 30fps only, while the 1080p videos will go up to 60fps. On the front, you’d see a single 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Unfortunately, it’s not even a wide-angle lens, it’ll be offering only 90-degree FOV.
Google is all set to switch the biometric authentication completely to the Face Unlock. There will be no fingerprint sensor. That’s a first for Google Pixel phone! As far as the connectivity is concerned, it will have a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0 + LE, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, and GPS.
Pixel 4 Vs Pixel 4XL – Specifications
Both the Pixel phones, the Pixel 4 and Pixel4 XL, they’ll be coming with an IP68 rating, which means it will be water-resistant. Coming to the differentiations between Pixel 4 and Pixel4XL.
The Pixel 4 comes with a 5.7-inch display with a native resolution of 2220 x 1080. It offers a 19:9 aspect ratio and offers 441 ppi pixel density. It’s an OLED panel, which is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The battery capacity on this phone is 2800mAh with support of wireless charging.
The Pixel 4 XL comes with a 6.3-inch display with a native screen resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels. It’s again an OLED panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio. There is a pixel density of 537 ppi. It is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The battery capacity on the Pixel 4 XL is 3700mAh with the support of wireless charging.

The Pixel 4 will retail at a starting price of Rs 56,999 approximately ($799) for 64GB unit, while the Pixel 4 XL will go for sale at a starting price of Rs 63,999 approximately ($899) for 64GB model. The phones are available for pre-order in the United States starting today.
