One of the many flagship devices launching this month is the Google’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. And while we’ve seen leaks for every smartphone, the Pixel 3 Xl leak story is on a different level from all. Let’s just end it by saying that people have comprehensive hands-on articles of the device live on the web right now. However, we’re here to talk about a new video teaser that shows off the Active Edge squeeze function of the handset.
If you’re not aware, edge squeeze was first brought mainstream by a dying HTC and popularized later by Google. It uses sensors on the left and right edges of the screen to detect pressure and executes commands based on that. The ad is for Japan, so don’t fret when you see Japanese people in there. Also, prepare to be disappointed if you think you’ll see an actual Pixel 3 XL in there. The ad simply teases the edge squeeze feature without delving on anything specific about it.
Also, there are hints in the video that Google will be launching a new colour option for Pixel 3 symbolized by two people in striped shirts hugging each other, say the folks at 9to5Google.
As for the specs of the Pixel 3 XL, we’ve covered that in detail in our previous articles which we will link above. Do take a look at them if you want more details. If you don’t, the launch is on October 9th anyways. Google is also prepping a Pixel Stand for wireless charging, the most recent leaks have suggested. Let’s see what else we see at the event. The handset will also be launching in Japan which is also hinted by the new video teaser.
