Here’s how to get “lights out” in Twitter dark mode

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. Twitter already has a night mode, right? Well, it does, but that basically changes the color tone to navy blue. But what if you could get everything changed to black? Yeah, like AMOLED style? Well, Twitter just heard your pleas, and they’ve added a “Lights Out” dark mode to their app. So what are we waiting for? Let’s see how to enable “lights out” dark mode on Twitter:

Enable “lights out” dark mode on Twitter

Note: The lights out dark mode is currently available only on iOS devices. We will update this article once the update for Android devices is also here.

1. To start off, make sure you have the latest Twitter app update installed on your iOS device.

2. Next up, open your sidebar and tap on “Settings and privacy”. Then, tap on “Display and sound”.

3. Now, enable the toggle next to “Dark Mode”. Once you do that, you’ll get the familiar navy blue color palette. However, we want the absolute dark mode. So, for that, tap on “Lights out” below it.

4. And voila! You now have the lights out dark mode enabled on your Twitter app. For devices that have an AMOLED display, trust me, this is such a great mode to have. Not only do the blacks look great, but they also save a lot of juice.
