Honor 8 will not receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update

Honor 8 will not receive the Android 8.0 Oreo, the company has confirmed. This information came from the official Twitter account of Honor India. The company confirmed this when it replied to a user’s tweet. The reason behind not extending the update to the Honor 8 is some ‘hardware and software limitations’.

The tweet by Honor read, “We can understand your concern. However, we regret to inform you that Honor 8 is not compatible for Android Oreo update due to hardware and software limitations. We always work for our customers and we are really glad to have you as an Honor customer. Inconvenience is regretted.”

However, the company has confirmed that the phone will receive security patches from time to time. The Honor 8 Pro will receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update and is already undergoing various tests.

Xiaomi Mi A1 has received the Android 8.0 Oreo update again.

The Honor 8 was launched back in 2016 and runs EMUI 4.0 based on Android Marshmallow. The phone has dual rear cameras with a combination of 12MP + 12MP sensors. It also has an 8MP selfie snapper. The device has a 5.2-inches display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920p.
