Honor 8X with Kirin 710 SoC and 6.5-inch FHD+ display launched in India

Honor 8X

Honor has announced an upgrade to the Honor 7X today in India. The new Honor 8X comes with upgraded specifications that include a larger screen, faster processor, higher RAM, better storage options, better dual rear cameras, higher resolution front cameras, and a larger battery capacity.

All this will come for a price of Rs 14,999 (base variant) in India starting October X, exclusively on Amazon. Sale starts on October 24. Let’s briefly talk about the Honor 8X specifications below.

Honor 8X specs – part 1

The Honor 8X is powered by the new mid-range chipset – Kirin 710. It clocks in at 2.2GHz per core and is an octa-core processor, based on a 12nm fabrication process. The Kirin 710 will come in three RAM/ROM variants: 4GB/64GB,  6GB/64GB, and  6GB/128GB of internal storage. This can be expanded via the microSD card slot.

As far as the display is concerned, it has a large 6.5-inch full HD+ resolution screen. This display has a pixel density of 396 PPI and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It is an IPS LCD panel. The device runs on the EMUI 8.2 custom user interface based on the Android 8.1 Oreo OS.

Honor 8X specs – part 2

Talking about the camera, it packs a dual rear camera setup with a 20MP primary lens and 2MP secondary lens. The primary lens offers an aperture size of f/1.8 and the secondary lens works as a depth sensor. But unfortunately, it doesn’t record a 4K video, unlike its competitors in the market. On the front, it has a 16MP resolution lens for a selfie and video calls. The company teases various modes such as HDR, Night Shot, and more. Further, the camera is accompanied by AI, so expect better scene detection compared to phones with no AI.

The connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, USB OTG support, 3.5mm Audio jack, GPS, and more. Talking about the audio experience, it claims to support Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, and aptX support. Moving to the battery capacity, it has a larger 3750mAh which support 5V/2A 10W charging, which isn’t quite fast charging standards, but it is better than average charging speed, as per claims.

The prices of the phones are as follows:

4/64GB – Rs. 14,999

6/64GB – Rs. 16,999

6/128GB – Rs. 18,999
