Huawei is on the brink of launching the Huawei Mate 20 Pro in India. But apart from that, the company seems to have already shifted its focus to something else. Recent reports suggest that Huawei might be working on a new smartphone with an in-display cutout for the camera.

Courtesy of leakster IceUniverse, Huawei seems to be working on a new smartphone with a cut-out for the selfie camera in the display. He also tweeted the following teaser image of the upcoming Huawei smartphone.
Huawei vs Samsung?
As we’ve talked previously, Samsung is also said to be working on its own device with a similar design language. The Samsung Galaxy A8s is said to be in the works. It is also said to feature a similar looking cut-out for the selfie camera in the display. Called the Infinity-O display, a recent leak from Weibo shows the display panel for the Galaxy A8s.
All in a race
From what it seems, both the companies seem to be competing for the post of “we did it first”. Honestly, even the selfie cutout is a lazy excuse and workaround for a notch. It still cuts out your display, and this time, it’s in an even weirder spot. According to leaks, Samsung was touted to launch the Galaxy A8s earlier next year. However, with Huawei working for a launch in December, Samsung might also push its team for a launch in a couple of weeks. We will have to wait to see which company actually manages to come out on top. Stay tuned to Mr. Phone to be updated on all the latest.
