Huawei will be announcing the flagship Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro on October 16 at the global stage in London. Shortly after that, the two phablets will go official in China as well. While there is still considerable time to it, Huawei has got the Mate 20 cleared by TENAA. The model number detected for the device was HMA-AL00 and HMA-TL00. Even though the models have been certified, we have yet to get the photos and spec-sheet that usually come with the TENAA green lights. However, that should follow soon.
The Huawei Mate 20 leaked specifications of the base model mention a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a 2244×1080 pixel resolution. From the design perspective, there’s little change at the front as XDA reported a waterdrop notch. This would make the notch much more bearable. Suffice to say, it’s a minimal change but the chassis and back is where all the action will happen.
The HiSilicon Kirin 980 CPU has been announced and it will be inside the Mate 20. Also, the triple camera setup will arrive in a square-shaped module with a flash completing the quartet inside the square. The upcoming Mate line is also expected to get wireless charging and fast 15W wireless charging at that. There’s supposed to be a 4,200mAh battery on the phablet and it will not sacrifice the 3.5mm headphone jack, suggest rumours.
We’re interested to see TENAA reveal the complete specifications of the phone and the images as that will clear a lot of confusion in the way. Stay tuned, that should happen in a few days.
