Huawei’s current Mate series is comprised of a trio of smartphones and this is likely to continue with the Mate 20 series arriving soon in October. However, the youngest of the three, the Mate 20 Lite has broken cover already. The handset is up for pre-order in Poland and a couple of websites have uploaded very detailed hands-on videos on YouTube as well today. Hence, we now know almost everything about the Mate 20 Lite. Take a look at the details below.
First of all, for the build and design of the Mate 20 Lite. This design has been trickling down the leak pipeline bit by bit. And as a consequence, we’re pretty much fed up. Not for the leak itself, but for the way Huawei is just stubbornly just copy pasting the same design over and over for pretty much every phone in its portfolio in 2018. It’s a premium build no doubt, but will anyone please tell Huawei to change the design? The back is somewhat different and is coated with glass leading to a lot of fingerprints.
As for the specs, the Mate 20 Lite has a HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC that creates fireworks on the 6.3-inch LCD touchscreen with 1080x2340p resolution. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable). It runs Android 8.1 overlayed by EMUI 8.2 which is the latest version of Huawei’s skin.
Interestingly, Huawei Mate 20 Lite comes with dual front and rear cameras. The rear arrangement includes a 20MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. While the front has a 24MP and a 2MP setup. The Mate 20 Lite comes with its own set of iPhone mimicry as it has Qmoji ad AR lens. This is aimed to offer features like Animoji and works surprisingly well.
And for the last part, the battery is 3,750mAh and comes with an 18W fast charger. And yes it does have a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Mate 20 Lite will cost PLN 1,599 ($437 or €374) in the country starting September 10 when it will be sold in stores. Pre-orders are live and the Mate 20 Lite has in Black, Blue, and Gold shades.
