While it was somewhat of a suspicious report earlier, now Huawei itself has confirmed the launch of the Nova 3 in India. The handset launch is on July 26. This marks the first ever entry of Nova phones in the country which otherwise regularly stay in China. The company posted an official teaser over the weekend on its Twitter handle and it doesn’t want things to be secret.
Huawei Nova 3 and 3i
Huawei might introduce two Nova phones, one of which hasn’t even released in China, the Nova 3i. However, this might change when Huawei formally introduces the Nova 3 on July 18 (in China). The Nova will be an Amazon India exclusive handset as there’s already a page dedicated to it on the e-commerce platform.
We’re already quite aware of all the qualities and characteristics of the Nova 3. The handset is nothing short of a flagship as it comes with the Kirin 970 SoC, 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of expandable onboard storage. It boasts a solid array of cameras – 16MP + 2MP on the back and a 24MP + 2MP sensor on the front, something which is also hinted at in the teaser.
The Nova 3 comes with a big 3,750mA battery inside the chassis with Android Oreo and EMUI 8.x running the show.
The Huawei Nova 3 will be like an Honor 10 for Huawei. The P20 series would represent the crown of Huawei’s flagship phones and the Nova 3 would be a budget flagship meant to compete with the OnePlus 6 and ZenFone 5Z. However, that can only be confirmed after the pricing announcement.
Meanwhile, Honor is also set to host a launch event on July 24 possibly for the Honor 9i (2018) possibly as the Honor 9X in India.
