Huawei has been making some amazing smartphones as of late. And that’s on both ends of the spectrum. The Huawei Mate 2o Pro is one of the best flagship smartphones in the market right now. And in the budget segment, the Huawei Y9 is yet another stunning device. Now, the company is said to be focussed on the Huawei P30 Pro, its next flagship device. While we’ve had a handful of leaks already, more rumors are pouring in. And this time, it’s about the rear camera setup.
Huawei P30 Pro with Quad Camera setup?
In case you haven’t noticed yet, camera watermarks are a big thing now, that a lot of companies use for advertising their smartphones’ camera samples. What’s interesting is that it has now become a source for this new leak about the P30 Pro as well. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business group, recently shared a photograph on Weibo to celebrate Lantern Festival. Now, while he did attempt to blur out certain aspects of the watermark, he did leave out enough details to aid this speculation.
As you can see in the image above, a certain text of the watermark has been blacked. However, one can easily make out that the second line goes on to say “Leica quad camera”. Now, coming back to the first line. The smartphone cannot be the Mate 20 Pro, since the space for it is too small, and moreover, we already know that smartphone has a triple camera setup. As such, all the signs clearly point towards the Huawei P30 Pro.
For now, it is not clear what this could spell out for the camera optics. The quad camera setup could come with a standard sensor, a telephoto lens for depth, a wide sensor, and a 3D ToF sensor. That being said, it is all speculation at this point. Huawei has always been known for its camera optics, and the P30 Pro could spell out to be a step in the right direction as well. We will have to wait and see till the official launch if the device stands true to its reputation.
