Huawei’ EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie has been officially announced in the Indian market today. Hereafter, Huawei’s Indian R&D team will be adding localized features before rolling a stable version of the ROM out to eligible smartphones. EMUI 9.0 first made an appearance not long ago at the global stage at IFA 2018. Huawei’s press release also mentioned the new features that can be expected with EMUI 9.0 in the near future.
EMUI 9.0: Highlights
The main key feature is a smooth and enhanced user experience with the company promising 12.9 percent better performance and 10 percent faster app load times. While the company didn’t elaborate a lot, it said that the essential UI elements including buttons have been moved to reduce complexity. EMUI 9.0 will also bring Huawei’s second-gen GPU Turbo. The new feature will improve gameplay even further and work with the App Assistant to deliver a non-intrusive gaming experience.
Besides these two, there will be gesture navigation, Digital WellBeing and a host of India-specific features which will be developed by the Huawei’s India software team. As mentioned in the presser, there will be support for 28 Indian languages, a custom local calendar, and deeper integration of PayTM.
EMUI 9.0 beta is already open for a number of European devices like Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, P20 Pro, P20, Honor 10, Honor View 10, and Honor Play. We expect the same devices to get EMUI 9.0 in India first at the start of the beta program.
