At MWC 2018, we got to see what a real bezel-less phone could really look like. After half a year of the so-called bezel-less devices, Vivo came up with a concept phone called Vivo Apex at MWC completely out of the blue. Though the handset did feature in leaks as the Vivo X30, but it caught us completely off guard at a rather ordinary MWC expo.
The Vivo Apex is surely the Apex of bezel-less design as of now with a 98% screen-to-body ratio. Being a concept device, we don’t expect it to go on shelves but here’s something that makes us optimistic.
According to Chinese media sources, Vivo has sent out invites for an event on March 5. The invite, according to industry insiders is for a Vivo Apex event. Now, considering how the handset at MWC had unpolished hardware and no specs mentions, it is hard to believe that it could launch in a week’s time. Also, the new in-display fingerprint tech just saw its first implementation on the phone. It is a doubt that it would be under mass production.
However, it isn’t entirely impossible for this handset to launch at a later time this year. Maybe, Vivo is holding a conference to announce its future launch plans for the Vivo Apex. Or maybe they’re not. Whatever the case may be, we’ll let you know the real deal in few days time.
