Today only, Xiaomi has revealed that a special press event will be held on December 7 where a device with Full-Screen Display, Soft Selfie, and 4,000mAh Battery will be released. It is anticipated that the successors of the highly successful Redmi 4 – Redmi 5 and 5 Plus, will be launched on this day and we should dig deeper into both of these devices to know what’s coming!
The company hasn’t revealed any specs of the phone, but thanks to the leaks, we can estimate some features of the upcoming devices.
This smartphone will feature a 5.7″ screen with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. An 18:9 aspect ratio is what is the most special thing about this upcoming Redmi device and we can’t just wait to behold this phone, can you? The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 450 processor and is highly likely to feature 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage.
The second variant of Redmi 5 will have 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM, as expected. As far as optics of the phone are concerned, it will have a 12MP rear and 5MP front camera sensor for satisfactory snaps!

Redmi 5 Plus
The Redmi 5 Plus is another device with an 18:9 aspect ratio and FullView display! This phone will feature a 5.99″ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor.
The phone is also likely to feature a dual camera setup with a combination of the 12MP+5MP sensor. The Redmi 5 Plus will also run Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI on top.
The device is likely to be priced at 999 Yuan (approximately $151).
