Joining Nokia in the league, Lava has showcased an Android Go phone at MWC 2018. The phone is called the Lava Z50 and is bound to go on sale from March this year. The smartphone will be available in ten thousand retail stores from the next month. Though the company hasn’t given out its price, it has announced a cashback worth Rs 2,000 for Airtel customers. The Lava Z50 will come with a two-year warranty.

The phone has been launched with a 4.5-inch FWVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 854p. The phone has 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass display. The device is a part of Google’s Android Go program and hence, focusses on intensifying the use of the internet in the emerging markets. The Lava Z50 runs on the MediaTek MT6737M quad-core processor, clocked at 1.1GHz. The phone runs the latest version of Android Oreo and will receive all the updates on time.
The phone has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM. The native storage is expandable but the limit hasn’t been disclosed by the company. The optics on the phone include a 5MP main shooter and a 5MP selfie snapper, both with a flash module. The phone is capable of clicking pictures in Bokeh mode, says the company. It supports ten Indian languages for search and comes in two colour variants – Black and Gold. A special set of Go apps also come pre-installed on the device.
